The Ultimate Tea Lineup for Serious Students
For most students, crunch time doesn’t happen for a few months. The first weeks of classroom time and homework serve as building blocks for the middle and end of the semester. That’s when the complex papers and big tests arrive—and when the study sessions occupy most waking hours.
But the prelude to all-night cramming doesn’t exactly amount to the educational equivalent of a serene stroll through a wildflower meadow. Teachers assign loads of reading assignments, conduct tests and require serious time in labs across the semester. All of this brain work, regardless of whether it’s week two or final exams, demands mental clarity and general alertness. Students who sleep their way through classes and nod off in the library after dinner tend to lose their academic edge.
Fret not, students (and parents of budding scholars)! We can’t help craft that first draft, or assist with the Calculus III homework. But we sure can offer solutions for the exhaustion part of the school equation. Because our favorite beverage, tea, has fueled philosophers, poets, scientists and loads of other thinkers for centuries.

Now—rather than only when the semester’s end draws near and the all-nighters commence—is the time for the people taking notes in classrooms to begin enlivening their brains with tea energy. Make it part of a routine during these early days, as summer persists and the school season’s toughest challenges dwell on the horizon.
And remember—study strategies don’t just hinge on energy. Students also need help settling their volatile minds after long days. Sleep, too, is vital. Treats? They matter!
Tea offers help on all fronts.
Happy studying!
Study Session Teas: CHA Relax Organic (Relaxation)

School-centered beverage recommendations normally revolve around energy delivery systems. Those canned energy drinks with 150 grams of caffeine, or lattes with four shots of espresso. Yes, zip matters, and we’ll cover that ground. But first, let’s explore something that all too often is forsaken—calm. Students’ brains get packed with information. They run from class to lab, wolf down lunches between tasks, dig in for more scholarly rigor in the evenings. Through it all, their minds need oases of peace and quiet—little patches of relief from the day’s stress. That’s where our CHA Relax comes in. This special blend, created in collaboration with CU Boulder’s Center for Humanities and the Arts (CHA), relies on a series of ingredients—rooibos, ginkgo leaf, elderflower, chamomile and spearmint—to bring about serenity. It’s perfect for students juggling so much across their harried days.
Study Session Teas: Milk Oolong (Sweet Treat)

This Ku Cha fan favorite delivers so much pleasure to sippers. The oolong broadcasts classic oolong vibes, full of floral, grassy and honeyed notes. As part of its curing process, tea artisans steam the unique oolong with whispers of non-dairy creamer, which add silky texture and hints of creaminess on the tongue. Add a little bit of honey or sugar? It stands as a full-on sweet treat. As a classic Camellia sinensis, this gem also brings the caffeine. For the student, it’s the whole package—energy, flavor and the treat factor.
Study Session Teas: Moroccan Mint (Mind Refresher)

Per capita tea consumption in Morocco ranks among the highest in the world. What are they sipping? Chinese gunpowder green tea with spearmint. Brewing pots of this elixir and serving them among friends—normally spiked with sugar (Ku Cha offers the kind of rock sugar that Moroccans add)—stands as a linchpin of Moroccan society, a hallmark of the country’s rich culture. We’re thrilled to carry this superb specimen, and to share it with students. The green tea, also known as Zhu Cha or “pearl tea,” gets rolled into small round pellets after harvest, making it look a little like gunpowder. The tea carries subtle smoky notes and packs a strong punch. It’s grand on its own, but when blended with spearmint it becomes otherworldly. We appreciate how the spearmint refreshes the mind, even as the caffeine stimulates brain activity. A perfect combination for any student!
Study Session Teas: Twilight Oolong (Late Study Sessions)

This spectacular oolong is all about transformation—add a drop of lemon juice to the brewed tea, and watch it turn purple. The magic comes courtesy of blue butterfly pea flower, which undergoes a rapid evolution when it touches citric acid. We love how the tea’s metamorphosis can stand in for the changes taking places in students’ minds as they dig into papers, lectures and the rest of the education foundations. Most students experience profound intellectual transformations during their time in school. This beautiful tea provides measured jolts of energy, due to the oolong. It also contains licorice root, which soothes sore throats and aids digestion.
Study Session Teas: Moonlit Pillow (Finally!)

Time to sleep! For students, that call to inaction is often easier said then done. They’ve spent the day and night stuffing their brains with all manner of information, from quadratic equations to astrophysics to the history of the Revolutionary War. They’re wired—and caffeine they may have sipped to stay awake only enhances the mental chaos. Invite them to leverage our Moonlit Pillow herbal blend to soften the sharp edges and encourage a drift into sleep. This wonder combines green rooibos, lavender, chamomile, oat straw, lemon balm, mugwort and catnip to ripen those sleep feels. All of them, with the exception of rooibos, get tapped routinely by herbalists to promote sleep.
