Iced Chai Overnight Oats: Your No-Cook Summer Breakfast

Skip the hot breakfasts during your summer swelter. Turn instead to super-healthy overnight oats—in this case, shot through with chai-tea-infused oat or dairy milk! This recipe is for six servings, letting you enjoy overnight oats all week.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups rolled oats (old-fashioned, not instant)
  • 3 cups whole milk or oat milk
  • 4 tbsp any of Ku Cha’s spectacular inventory of custom chais!
  • 1.5 cups plain yogurt, either dairy or plant-based
  • 6 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoons ground cardamom
  • 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • big pinch of salt
  • 3 tablespoons chia seeds

Steps

1: Steep the chai: Warm 1 cups whole milk or oat milk just until steaming (not boiling) and steep chai in it for 10 minutes

2: Combine everything: In a jar or container, whisk together the warm chai milk with with all ingredients except for oats and chia seeds.

3: Add oats and chia: Stir in rolled oats chia seeds until fully coated and no dry spots remain.

4: Chill overnight: Cover and refrigerate for at least 360 minutes, ideally overnight, so the oats soften and the chai spices fully infuse.

5: Serve: Give it a good stir, loosen with a splash of milk if it’s too thick, and top with fresh fruit, toasted nuts or a drizzle of honey. Best enjoyed cold, straight from the fridge.
