Mother’s Day Teas: 11 Beautiful Teas To Celebrate Mom
In just five weeks we celebrate one of our favorite holidays of the year, Mother’s Day. This special Sunday always arrives during the height of spring, with flowers spangling landscapes, grass transforming neighborhoods and meadows into emerald jewels and restaurants packed with families dressed up to honor moms.
What a national treasure.
Tea often figures into Mother’s Day. The fancy, traditional English ceremony that we in the United States call “high tea,” but which in the United Kingdom is called “afternoon tea,” often sees its busiest day of the year on mom’s big day, for example.
For many people, though Mother’s Day happens at home, with kids, partners and other preparing breakfasts and mid-day feasts while mom savors having others prepare and serve a feast for her—and then clean up afterwards.
We always look forward to Mothers Day with keen anticipation. Among other things, we love guiding the people planning holiday celebrations toward special teas.
We will offer a range of Mother’s Day content between now and the big day, May 10. But for this newsletter, we will begin by laying out a broad diversity of teas that we find especially apropos for trumpeting and championing mom.
The time is NOW to start planning for the most important woman in the lives of many!
Teas for Mother’s Day: Blue Butterfly Green

This tea is all about transformation, and so too should Mother’s Day transform your mom’s Sunday—into a spectacle of love. Our Blue Butterfly Green’s grand pivot hinges on the butterfly pea flowers in the blend. These magic petals turn vivid indigo purple when hit with anything acidic, like lemon juice. The change comes thanks to the high concentration of anthocyanins in the blue petals. In addition, butterfly pea flowers bring a bounty of antioxidants to the blend, and may help contribute toward weight loss, blood sugar control and hair health. This mom-happy tea has it all—rich color, delicate flavors and health benefits. Ingredients include green tea, jasmine (for even more floral advantages), strawberry and papaya.
Teas for Mother’s Day: Lady Titania White

In Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” Lady Titania served as the queen of the fairies: a dignified, graceful, proud and fiercely independent woman. To honor that strong character, we came up with this mom-leaning blend. Delicate-yet-potent white tea anchors the tea, with orange peel and lemon balm adding citrus and herbal punch—such flavor! The blend also contains marshmallow and echinacea, which contribute health benefits, including relaxation. Invite this blend to gently (and figuratively!) carry mom through an enchanted forest on a midsummer night.
Teas for Mother’s Day: Zen Time Blend (Organic)

Sinking into zen time can come about through meditative pursuits of all stripes—including through the sipping of our favorite beverage. We built this blend with busy moms in mind, for the women juggling so many things every day to support families, friends and communities. What’s one thing they need? In many cases, more zen time. This beauty leans into passionflower, long used to help ripen states of calm and relaxation. It also contains chamomile, another serenity-inducing classic botanical. Rose and rosehip deliver even more tranquility and peppermint adds lovely flavor and aroma to an already intoxicating blend. Perfect for mom!
Teas for Mother’s Day: Bi Tan Piao Xue

When we think about recommending Mother’s Day teas, we never skip this one. It’s our most exquisite jasmine green tea, and perhaps the finest in the jasmine tea marketplace. Bi Tan Xue means “snow falling upon a jade pond,” a image floods us with peace. We feel the same way when we contemplate our moms. The tea gets its name from the tiny, silver-lined tea buds on the shrubs that artisans then combine with tender jasmine flowers, which are harvested only in the evening. This tea’s base comes from Mountain Meng, one of the most ancient tea mountains in China. Soothing and sweet, our Bi Tan Piao Xue will transport you to a calming state of mind with every sip.
Teas for Mother’s Day: Jasmine Pearl Green (Organic)

Bi Tan Piao Xue stands as a especially enchanting jasmine green tea. But our most popular is our Jasmine Pearl Green. It’s not a shocker. Tea artisans hand-craft this tea by taking fresh, spring-harvested tea and fresh jasmine blossoms and rolling them into pearl-like balls to dry. When this tea gets dunked in hot water, the pearls unfurl, casting off perfume and creating visual beauty in the tea pot. It’s a downright heavenly tea, with grassy green tea notes along with sweet, aromatic jasmine advantages. It’s a top seller for good reason—and another spectacular tea fit for a Mother’s Day gift.
Teas for Mother’s Day: Matcha

Mother’s Day, rightfully, falls during the height of spring. Flowers decorate entire landscapes and green rises from all corners. To honor the explosion of life that accompanies the holiday, we think matcha is a splendid idea for honoring precious mom. But it’s not just the color that thrills—matcha’s rounded, subtly sweet flavor also captures the adoration of millions around the globe. Tea farmers in Japan begin the matcha-making process by growing tea under shade for up to a month prior to harvest. After they pluck the leaves from bushes, the tea then gets processed through steam into something called “tencha,” which is this style of tea after it’s been steamed. Following this key process, artisans then mill the leaves into powder—and then it’s matcha. One of the many beautiful things about matcha is it’s not just brewed—it’s fully consumed. The tea leaves themselves get sipped. As a result, matcha shepherds more health benefits to the tea party. And when it comes to mom, the healthier the better!
Teas for Mother’s Day: Jasmine Silver Needle

We can’t resist the siren song of jasmine tea. We carry a variety of styles. Our Jasmine Silver Needle rests on a foundation of premium silver needle white tea, which is one way in which is stands apart from many other jasmine teas, which often use green tea. To make this ambrosial blend, artisans then combine just-plucked jasmine blossoms with tea leaves up to six different times, for up to five hours for each session. The result? A bewitching fragrance and a rich, sweet infusion proffering a multi-layered sipping experience. This is a royal tea. Treat your queen to this botanical gorgeousness for Mother’s Day 2026!
Teas for Mother’s Day: Milk Oolong

Creamy and sweet, textured and fragrant, our milk oolong is especially popular at Ku Cha House of Tea. To make it, tea artisans steam fresh-harvested oolong with non-dairy creamer, and then roast the tea after steaming. The melange of steps yield a unique and absolutely delicious tea. Treat mom to this lovely tea for Mother’s Day, and chances are it will become a regular part of her daily tea rotation.
Teas for Mother’s Day: Lavender Earl Grey

Queen Elizabeth II favored Earl Grey tea; she reportedly drank it every afternoon, religiously, for many decades. Her preference: cream but no sugar, and often accompanied by scones with cream and jelly, or sandwiches. We also adore Earl Grey tea, and have grown to take to it with especial fervor when it’s punched up with lavender. We don’t know if the Queen Mother ever sipped the Earl Grey-lavender combination. But we surely understand the depths to which we favor this grand tea. We think your queen mother will also fall for it.
Teas for Mother’s Day: Gyokuro

Mom deserves the best—and so gyokuro is just the ticket. Gyokuro, which means jade dew in Japanese, represents the highest grade of Japanese green tea. Artisanship guides every step. Farmers make sure to shade tea bushes for 20 days immediately before harvesting, a step that adds complexity and umami to the tea once brewed. After the leaves get picked by hand, farmers steam, dry and carefully roll the leaves into shapes resembling pine needles. Farmers harvest this tea just once a year, in early spring, a practice that further concentrates the tea’s delicacy and focus. Once brewed, it produces a delicate flavor with a slightly sweet aftertaste. This Gyokuro comes from Hoshino, Fukuoka Prefecture, famous for its production of excellent, high-quality teas. This is not to be missed for any tea admirer, and that most definitely includes mom.
Teas for Mother’s Day: China Rose Black

Sometimes simplicity wins the say. We offer chais with close to a dozen ingredients. Some herbal blends, too, come studded with botanical ingredients from around the world. But this blend keeps it simple: outstanding black tea and rose petals. It comes across as black tea, but with a haunting extra something, a whisper of early summer, a hint of grandma’s back yard. That something, of course, is rose. Our China Rose Black is wonderful on its own, but adding cream turns it into a creamy floral elixir. Honey? Sure! Incorporate this cup of ambrosia into your morning—into mom’s morning, too.
Teas for Mother’s Day: Desert Rose

Our Desert Rose remains an extremely popular herbal blend, a wonderful tea nearly electric with herbal and floral notes. It’s also caffeine-free. It will quench mom’s thirst while simultaneously rejuvenating her spirit. Consider the ingredient lineup: rose, rosemary, sage, lavender and lemon balm. It contains hints of the American West, primarily through the sage. It broadcasts Mediterranean vibes, too, with rosemary, lavender and lemon balm. And the rose? It perfumes both extraordinary regions. Whisk mom away to a magnificent getaway, with our always sought-after Desert Rose herbal blend.
