Valentine’s Day Commitment Teas Our Customers Love Most
Valentine’s Day invites us to bump hearts with loved ones. To gaze into a a romantic partner’s eyes during a candlelight dinner. To pick up a three-year-old son, kiss him on the cheek and wipe a smudge of chocolate from his forehead (and wonder—how the heck did that get there?).
As love’s only holiday, Valentine’s Day covers a lot of important ground: Grinning, we feel compelled to champion all of the things that stoke our hearts’ hearth. It also trains a spotlight on commitment. Fleeting love conjures pleasures, certainly. But it’s lasting love that persuades us humans to, well, do the right thing. Lasting love binds humanity.

As we draw ever nearer to heart’s big day—weighing chocolate decisions, making restaurant reservations, already thinking about what to say on Valentine’s Day cards—let’s fix on this commitment idea for a spell. And of course, let’s do so in the context of our favorite beverage, tea.
One barometer of tea love: best sellers. We carry more than 200 varieties of tea. Customers buy some of the teas constantly; others get chosen every now and again. While we savor every single tea in the store, let’s engage in a little crowd-sourcing and explore a selection of teas that we know, from two decades of data, spark deep commitments from our customers around the world.
These are teas to try, fall in love with and then make part of your tea routine. Customers who buy a lot of tea from us tend to become members. Among other things, membership delivers 10% discounts on all purchases! And that includes 10% discounts that apply to all purchases of tea in pound or more increments. Potentially 20% discounts on your favorite teas!
One sip, and you’ll be committed!
Commitment Teas: Jasmine Pearl

Do the jasmine blossoms in this tea inspire such customer devotion? We don’t know, for sure. But chances are the measures of both jasmine and fine green tea strike an especially winning balance—one that has sparked loads of commitment.
The artisanship behind these treasures inspires. Tea farmers harvest the tea leaves only in the spring. To them, they add just-plucked jasmine blossoms. They then roll the combination of tea and flower into pearls, and dry them. When brewed, the pearls slowly unfurl, broadcasting wonderful jasmine perfume.
Commitment Teas: Organic Sencha

Japan delivers to the world such a range of unique and compelling teas. The country made matcha famous, of course. People across the island nation drink a lot of matcha, in straight-up brewed tea as well as lattes, cappuccinos and more. But they sip a bunch more sencha, Japan’s everyday, all day tea. For this gem, tea artisans in Shizuoka, Japan harvest leaves in early spring, stem them and lightly roll them for drying. The result? A mellow, refreshing, sweet taste with a pleasing and lingering buttery finish. Classic sencha!
It’s also quite healthy. The techniques that gird the manufacturing of sencha tea yield rich antioxidant content, which bolsters a range of health benchmarks.
Who knows? You might become a sencha convert yourself—a committed one.
Commitment Teas: Milk Oolong

We knew we loved this milk oolong the first time we brewed it, many years ago. But we did not predict it would become one of the store’s best sellers. You go, milk oolong!
This mildly sweet, creamy tea combines outstanding Chinese oolong a healthy non-dairy creamer. The two get steamed together, before tea artisans roast the leaves The result—an oolong carrying faint whispers of a subtle creaminess, due to the creamer.
This dazzler has enchanted so many customers—legions of committed Milk Oolong fanatics!
Commitment Teas: Autumn Chai

Autumn vibes seize the spirits of so many people around the world. The pivot from heat to chill, the cascades of colored leaves, landscapes settling in for hibernation—the whole package floods hearts with anticipation for the season’s change.
Perhaps this autumn-adoration explains our Autumn Chai’s persistent popularity. We sell many pounds of it every week, regardless of whether it’s October, February or July.
Chai comes in many styles. This one finds its footing with Madagascar vanilla black tea. The chai spice profile ranks as simple: cinnamon, allspice, ginger and nutmeg. The essence of baking spices.
Ready for committing? It won’t require a ring. Just a sip.
Commitment Teas: London Fog Black

Ooh, talk about a vortex of temptation! This precocious blend of rich vanilla and aromatic lavender, combined with bergamot-spiked Earl Grey black tea, wins hearts every week. We know this because customers can’t help but regale us with accounts of the depths of their swooning.
It’s seductive and sultry. Smooth and charming. Enlivening and extremely satisfying. You’ll brew a pot, then crave another. The next day, you’ll do the same. Now that’s commitment!
Commitment Teas: Toasted Almond Fruit

Not all of our best-selling teas depend on traditional Camellia sinensis for their anchors. Case in point, our toasted almond fruit tea.
This love dispenses with all stripes of botanicals we normally associate with tea: Camellia sinensis, yerba mate, rooibos and so on. It doesn’t even contain leafy botanicals like mint or chamomile. Instead, our toasted almond fruit tea showcases apple pieces, almonds, cinnamon pieces and beetroot. Simple, yes. And so very magnetic.
With low acid, no caffeine and a pink color this unusual treat tends to turn into a regular order by our customers—some get it shipped every month. Among many other things, we thrill to brewing this tea after dinner. The lack of caffeine means it won’t interfere with sleep. And the other ingredients suggest dessert, even though the tea itself is free of sweeteners. Try it soon, and become a committed convert!
