Infused Hot-Water “Wellness Shots”
Drinking full mugs of tea delivers the wellness goods—every sip can add bursts of health. But sometimes you don’t desire a full a cup or pint of tea. Instead, you’d thrill to a concentrated wallop of tea wellness, something you can toss back like a shot. We’ve got you covered!
- Brew a concentrated strong infusion of wellness tea (1 Tbs for 8 ounces of water). Simmer for 5-10 minutes, covered. Note, this is not advised for Cammelia sinensis, as it might grow too bitter. But it sings for most of our herbal teas.
- Strain, then pour a 2- to 4-ounce shot in the morning, between meals, or after dinner as a digestif. Save the strained botanicals.
- You can then prepare another batch of tea from the same brewed botanicals. This time brew for at least 10 minutes, or longer. It won’t be as strong as the first batch, but it’ll still deliver some wellness boosts.
- Pro tip: You can add a slice of ginger or herbs like turmeric and cayenne to the brew to increase its digestive qualities. You can also add a squeeze of lemon to the individual shots, for more gut and metabolic health.
