Among other things, including flavors that complement granola&#8217;s charms, rooibos contains electrolytes\u2014vital for mountain pursuits! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dry:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>2 cups rolled oats<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00be cup chopped toasted nuts (almonds, walnuts or pistachios work well)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bd cup seeds (pumpkin, sunflower, sesame or a mix)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bd cup dried fruit (cranberries, cherries, chopped apricots or golden raisins)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 tbsp unsweetened shredded coconut (optional)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\u20132 tsp <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kuchatea.com\/product\/Vanilla-Rooibos\/241\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Rooibos Vanilla Tea blend<\/mark><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Wet:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u00bd cup brewed&nbsp;<em>strong rooibos tea<\/em>&nbsp;(steep 2\u20133 tsp tea in \u00bd cup boiling water for 10\u201315 mins, then strain)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u2153 cup honey or maple syrup<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bc cup nut butter (almond, peanut, or cashew)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 tbsp coconut oil or butter<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bd tsp vanilla extract<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bc tsp sea salt<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Optional: \u00bc tsp cinnamon or ground ginger for depth<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Instructions<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Brew the tea<\/strong><br>Steep the rooibos (more concentrated than you\u2019d drink) and strain. Let it cool slightly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Mix the dry ingredients<\/strong><br>In a large bowl, combine oats, nuts, seeds, dried fruit, coconut and the optional dry rooibos leaves.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Cook the wet binder<\/strong><br>In a small saucepan, combine brewed tea, honey or maple syrup, nut butter, coconut oil, salt and vanilla. Warm over medium-low heat, whisking until smooth and slightly thickened (3\u20135 mins). Remove from heat.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Combine<\/strong><br>Pour the wet mixture into the dry. Stir well to coat everything evenly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Press and chill<\/strong><br>Line an 8&#215;8&#8243; pan with parchment. Press the mixture firmly into the pan with a spatula or the bottom of a glass. Really pack it down.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Chill<\/strong><br>Refrigerate for at least 2 hours (or freeze for 30 mins). Once firm, cut into bars.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Pack and go<\/strong><br>Wrap in parchment or stash in a tin.
