We know the summer temps are doing their hot job on the toast front, but why not complement the atmospherics with a super refreshing drink that simultaneously suggests campfire and caramel, thanks to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kuchatea.com\/product\/Hojicha-Powder\/3911\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>hojicha powde<\/strong>r<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This powder\u2014similar in form to matcha\u2014comes from hojicha tea which gets pulverized. The tea leaves are famously toasty and nutty, and so is the powder.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This thirst-quencher combines bright yuzu or lemon juice with the hojicha. The balance is sublime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Iced Hojicha &amp; Yuzu Fizz<\/strong><br>\ud83c\udf42 Toasty, tangy and a little sparkly\u2014a dressed-up tea spritz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>1 tsp hojicha powder<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 oz hot water (not boiling, about 175\u00b0F)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 oz yuzu juice (or lemon juice if you can\u2019t find yuzu)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 tsp honey or yuzu syrup (adjust to taste)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sparkling water<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ice<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Optional: a dash of orange bitters or a splash of sake<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Instructions<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Whisk the hojicha powder with the hot water until smooth and fully dissolved (a matcha whisk is perfect here, but a frother or vigorous spoon works too). Let it cool slightly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In a shaker or glass, stir together the yuzu juice and honey until well combined.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add the hojicha and stir or shake with ice.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strain into a tall glass filled with fresh ice.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Top with sparkling water (about 4\u20136 oz depending on how fizzy you like it).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add that dash of bitters or sake if you&#8217;re feeling flirty.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Garnish with a thin lemon wheel, yuzu peel, or a sprig of mint.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ready to get toasty?
