Steeped in Gratitude: Teas to Love on Mother\u2019s Day<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Let\u2019s all honor moms on Sunday. If you\u2019re lucky enough to enjoy the company of a grand mom, then warm her heart. Serve her tea and treats! If mom is gone, cherish her memory, honor the tenure of her warm presence on this mysterious planet. If a mother has never figured into your life, or if your maternal experience lacked qualities worth celebrating, perhaps consider all that maternal excellence delivers to life on Earth. She\u2019s awfully important.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her big celebration, Mother\u2019s Day<\/mark><\/a>, invites quite a bit of tea enjoyment. Tea shops fill up. Places that serve proper English High Teas enjoy their busiest day of the year. We craft a number of teas specific to Mother\u2019s Day, and even devote a gift box, Mom\u2019s Favorite Tea Box<\/mark><\/a>, to the holiday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mother\u2019s Day is the third most popular holiday for sending cards, after Christmas and Valentine\u2019s Day. More phone calls are made on Mother’s Day\u2014122 million!\u2014than any other day of the year. It\u2019s also extremely busy in restaurants. Nobody wants mom to cook, or to clean dishes!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carnations serve as the holiday\u2019s flower, with pink symbolizing gratitude, and white, remembrance of all that mothers have given us, as well as mothers who have passed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

They come seeking advice about our vast range of special whole-leaf teas. Some visit looking for exquisite tea pots from China and Japan. Others seek whimsical tea cups, or \u201ctea pigs<\/mark><\/a>\u201d\u2014clay porcine figurines that Chinese people traditionally invite to join them while sipping tea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One common theme with Mother\u2019s Day teas, based on our 20 years of experience? Floral blends! Flowers, of course, play a large role in this grand holiday. And many teas incorporate flowers\u2014and not just new blends. Chinese people have been mixing jasmine blossoms and green tea for more than 1,000 years!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mother\u2019s Day Teas: Lady Earl Grey Black Tea<\/mark><\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n

Within the culinary arts, few flowers have achieved as much prominence as lavender blossoms. Roses probably stand as the only flowers with more kitchen versatility than roses\u2014much of the Middle East and India, too, lean heavily into rose. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many of our teas incorporate lavender\u2014when added in the right proportions, it adds flavors that we think of as utterly beguiling. Enchanting, even. When combined with bergamot, the citrus oil behind Earl Grey\u2019s unique flavor? Prepare thyself for ensorcelment! This is a stunning, and favorite, tea. The final kicks of cornflower and lemon peel take it over the edge. It\u2019s just fantastic\u2014a perfect Mother\u2019s Day tea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mother\u2019s Day Teas: Blue Butterfly Green Tea<\/mark><\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n

Moms wield magic. No wands, no spells, no pointy hats. The mystery, instead, issues from the biggest hearts on the planet. So this flower-punctuated blend aligns perfectly with the mom in your life. Brew the green tea. Add a few drops of lemon juice to the elixir. Abracadabra\u2014it turns blue!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sorcery comes from blue butterly pea flowers, blossoms native to Asia that contains the compound anthocyanin. This flavonoid pigment is pH-sensitive\u2014when touched by an acid, it transforms into blue. This is a gorgeous tea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The blend also contains jasmine (another glorious blossom, one quite common in tea), strawberry and papaya. Together\u2014tea grandeur! Mom will adore this beauty. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mother\u2019s Day Teas: Lady Titania White Tea<\/mark><\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The flower here, echinacea, decorates wild and cultivate landscapes around the world. But it\u2019s native to North America, where it enlivens prairies, open woods, grasslands and mountain foothills with striking purple petals and rust-colored centers. Echinacea broadcasts a spicy bitterness, and it\u2019s widely used as a health tonic by practitioners of natural medicine. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But this staggering white tea blend contains plenty more\u2014all of it excellent for bolstering mom\u2019s health, while tasting wonderful. Orange peel and lemon balm add citrus notes. Marshmallow root contributes a succulent mouthfeel, as well as strong health advantages.
